 Market Reports
As the Treasurer and manager of SFE's shops, it is my responsibility to set prices that are reasonable and fair.
In order to do this, SFE undergo a once a month review of prices that is an intricate balance involving the current monthly averaged market prices, procurement prices as supplied from SFE Logistics department, success rates as dictated by SFE Crafting department and of course blue print procurement for those blueprints that have a limited life expectancy!
All of this swirls around our own amazing little system and out comes the price recommendations for the following month!
| Price Guide #15 - February 2010 | Feb 2010 | Into the new year and VU's are flying quick and fast and with the announcement that shortly we will be exposed to VU's from both MA and from FPC we can expect a lot more of the same! The roadmap for 2010 as outlined by Bertha Bot gives an exciting insight into the upcoming changes expected with Entropia coming soon! And, as always, it is SFE's business to ensure that you are all equipped with the right kind of protection! Unsure which armour is right for you or right for the mobs you wish to hunt? Ask us, we'll be only too happy to help.
For the most part during the month of February demand on materials went up, perhaps as crafters came back after Xmas and started to chew through available stocks from miners over the break? Whatever the reason, there was a general increase in prices of materials across the board, with only a few minor exceptions of materials that actually dropped in price. In most cases, the rise in materials costs was not enough to influence the price of armours, though in a few extreme cases it was.

Treasurer SFE | | | Price Guide #14 - January 2010 | Jan 2010 | Happy New Year!
And welcome back to another exciting year of Entropia, a year in which we hope to see First Planet Calypso recover economically from the trials of a global financial setback and from implementation of VU10. This is also a year when we expect to see new planets developed ever further and new and exciting adventures being had! So, before you set out on ayd of these Calypso-based adventures, be sure you're wearing the right protective equipment and stock up with the right armour! Unsure which armour is right for you or right for the mobs you wish to hunt? Ask us, we'll be only too happy to help. We're not afraid to recommend armours we don't stock if we believe it is best for you.
Commodity price wise, December was a very fluctuating type of month. Some materials' prices went up, some went down. Some changes in costs to craft armour were marginally lower, others quite a lot higher. There doesn't appear to be any rhyme or reason this month for which materials have changed in price - possibly due to Xmas? Either way, SFE has elected to not raise prices for the fluctuations that increased costs to craft - instead holding out to see if prices stabilise next month. We have, however, dropped prices on those armours that have become cheaper to craft!
Price Adjustments due Material Prices
Luna: Price Decrease, Shins and thighs from 365% to 345%, Harness from 310% to 300%, Gloves, Arms and Foots from 370% to 350%. (Due to Robot Flare Filters falling 1192.01% to 1092.02%)

General Comments
What a drop in price for Spectre! It is rare indeed to get the two key ingredients for a high level suit of armour to both fall in price at the same time! This represents a huge saving on the overall cost of this suit of armour and excellent value for money! You can find a full suit of Male Spectre in SFE's shopping precinct, Block A, Silver Building, Treasure Island City, now with 4 stores open and more armour coming soon!!

Treasurer SFE | | | Price Guide #13 - December 2009 | Dec 2009 | The slow recovery continues and a gradual demand for armour continues to grow at a slow but steady rate. As a result, SFE's demand for materials continues to grow. More and more in game services and locations, mobs and events are coming back on line and it seems the community in general is slowly creeping back into Entropia, though many are holding their breath against the arrival of the new planets it would seem!
The interesting thing about November 2009 was that despite a trend of increase activity in Entropia in general and a corresponding increase in demand for materials, increase in material prices and ultimately an increase in prices of crafted items (armour being no exception!), November saw a fall in many material prices. Not that we're complaining! Some of these falls were really quite dramatic and we are happy here at SFE to announce this month a lot of rather large price cuts on a range of armour!

Lich: Price Increase, Shins, Thighs, Harness, Helmet, Arms, Gloves, Foots from 450%% to 490%. (Due to Light Metal Plating rising 7581.82%% to 9861.54%)

With the exception of Lich, there are some very large price drops on a lot of armours, including some higher order armours like Spectre and Solir, as well as some of the boutique armours like Dragon and Vindicator. There's never been a better time to jump in and grab yourselves that suit of armour you've had your eye on for a while now! Don't wait, prices are just as likely to go up next month as down!
Coming soon, a new fully stocked shop at Treasure Island Silver Block A to go with the 3 fully stocked shops already there!

Treasurer SFE | | | Price Guide #12 - November 09 | Nov 2009 | The slow recovery from VU10 continues and the market is slowly responding though it appears to be in no great hurry. Possibly this is how the population flow is responding within game as well, in no great hurry to return or suffering from higher requirements of their computers! Either way, the nett effect on prices over the last month was a very random spread of some materials rising, others falling and no obvious pattern or trend.
Fortunately, most of the rises in materials prices were on lower order materials and the rises not too high. In these cases, SFE has absorbed the increases in prices. Fortunately for our customers, some higher end materials have falled in price, allowing a significant reduction in price for some of SFE's more expensive buitique and high end armours!
Price Adjustments due to Material Prices
Dragon: Price Decrease, Shins and Arms from tt+250 to tt+195, Thighs and Harness from tt+470 to tt+385. (due to Dunkel Plastix falling 6656.89% to 5484.85%)
Sema: Price Decrease, Shins, Gloves and Foots from 285% to 275%, Thighs and Arms from 280% to 270%, Harnesses from 325% to 310%, Helmets from 325% to 320% (Due to Langotz falling 888.89% to 843.41%)
Solir: Price Decrease, Shins from 190% to 250%, Thighs from 260% to 255%, Helmet from 350% to 255%, Arms from 260% to 245%, Gloves from 260% to 235% and Foots from 240% to 235% (Due to Binary Energy falling 216.20% to 185.34% and Platinum falling 241.90% to 224.94%)
Spectre: Price Decrease, Shins from 315% to 300%, Thighs from 320% to 300%, Harnesses from 375% to 320%, Face from 330% to 300%, Arms, Gloves and Foots from 325% to 300% (Due to Langotz falling 888.89% to 843.41% and Platinum falling 241.90% to 224.94%)

We all at SFE hope that you are able to enjoy VU10 without too much detriment to your gaming experience. Keep an eye on this space as high end armours continue to fall as they have done for a few months in a row now. It could be the perfect time to jump in and snap up a good deal on a high end armour!
Don't forget our stores on Treasure Island City, Silver building, Block A!

Treasurer SFE | | | Price Guide #11 - October 2009 | Oct 2009 | Welcome back to a whole new world!
V10 has really done some weird and wonderful things, to the economy, to the number of people in Entropia, to the ingame world and to our real life computer systems as they struggle badly to keep up! Skill implants in auction for low prices as disgruntled players exit the universe and new items to be looted. Through all of this though, materials prices have held steady or in the case of the low end materials actually gone up a touch. The global trend for consumable materials seems to be up, perhaps a symptom of not as many miners or perhaps not as many new people in the game.
Overall, there is very little change to SFE's prices. In most cases, the increase in material prices were sufficiently small that we could not justify increasing our prices except in 1 case where the rise was high enough. The rest we have absorbed, though a moderate or even small rise next month may see us having to review those prices. Since it has been a while, I will reference monthly averaged prices that may not necessarily be from last month, since V10 has made a bit of a mess of the world in that time!
Price Adjustments due Material Prices
Explorer: Price Increase, thighs and arms from tt+8.5 to tt+9, face, gloves, shins and foots from tt+4.5 to tt+5 (due to Magerian Spray from 124.36% to 135.52% and Narcanisum from 142.42% to 178.09%, both in the last month.)
Lich: Price Decrease, All pieces from 550% to 450% (due to Light Metal Plating falling from a peak of 18533.30% or 92.67ped each to 7287.72% or 36.44ped each!!)
General Comments
You will notice that Light Metal Plate has fallen dramatically which has enabled us to offer Lich at a much better price than previously. If the price continues to fall, then this will become a truely awesome armour as its protections is superior to most in game armours. The other major mover was the fall of Rugaritz, from a peak of 15277.80% or 687.50ped each to 3866.67% or just 174ped each! This means that the prices of armours such as Trooper and Phantom would be considerably lower, were anybody to order any pieces of either suit from us.
Finally, we now have a 3rd shop open in Block A, Silver Building of Treasury Island City and you can expect to see us gradually stocking the 4th shop in this complex over the coming weeks.

Treasurer SFE | | | Price Guide #10 - June 2009 | Jun 2009 | For any of you that are regular readers of these posts, you will know that 2 months ago saw a decisive split in the trend of materials, with expensive materials dropping in price while cheaper materials rose. 1 month ago, this trend moved slightly with expensive materials continuing to drop, but the middle range materials now joining the cheaper materials in rising. This last month has seen a complete halt in material prices, up or down, with only 1 or 2 exceptions, interestingly these are in the expensive materials!
The result of this widespread dose of no change to material prices has resulted in the same for SFE armour prices, very few changes! SFE's previous decision to not raise prices on armours reliant on cheap and mid level materials has now been fully justified and we are proud to leave our prices at their current rates for all common armours. However, the increase in a couple of expensive materials has resulted in SFE having to adjust Dragon and Expedition upwards in price, the first price increase for any armour sold by SFE since February! In general terms though, expensive materials have fallen longer and further than any other materials so this comes as more of a market rebalance than anything else.
Price Adjustments due Material Prices
Dragon: Price Increase, shins and arms from tt+200 to tt+250, harness and thighs from tt+400 to tt+450 (due to Dunkel Plastix from 6069.93% to 6717.95%)
Expedition: Price Increase, shins, face, arms, gloves and foots from tt+300 to tt+325, thighs from tt+500 to tt+550, harness from tt+600 to tt+650 (due to Dunkel Plastix from 6069.93% to 6717.95%)
General Comments
It is heartening to see that prices are not falling and perhaps the worst of the global financial market downturn is over, though this is a hope more than an assurance from SFE! Prices remaining on hold across the board however show that the general population of SFE are happy to continue to show their trust in the Entropia market and signals what could easily become a solid basis for a rebounding market.
Don't forget to check out our new store on Treasure Island, Silver Building!
